Initial Appointment & Assessment
Initial appointment may include:
Review of consent
Description of the recreation therapy approach for the client's needs
Review of client's concerns
Initial assessment to determine where the client's needs are (may include standardized or agency specific assessments)
Discussion of goals and potential treatment options
Counselling or recreation therapy/education may be part of the initial appointment
All initial appointments are virtual. If accommodations are required, please contact Flourish YXE to inquire if an in-person option is available.
Follow Up Appointments
Follow up appointment may include:
Continued rapport building and creating a safe space for clients
Reviewing goals for therapy
Supportive therapy using recreation/leisure interventions
Reviewing progress, perceived success, continued challenges
Making any necessary treatment plan changes.
Follow up appointment can be done virtually, in-person, or in the community with leisure participation.
Costs of any community based recreation or leisure participation is the client's responsibility to pay.

Postpartum depression/anxiety
Disordered eating
General women’s mental health support
Sober leisure
Prenatal mental health support
Adolescent’s coping skills
